Coach Applications

NGSMHA is looking for coaches at our REP DIVISIONS for our 2023-2024 season. Completed application forms are to be submitted by April 30th 2023 to mansonml@hotmail.com. Interviews will be conducted in early May.

Coaching U7

Here's what you need to be certified for U7:

Trained status is required for the position of Initiation Head Coach. To achieve this status you must complete the following components:

Coach 1: Intro to Coaching (1 day in class course)
Hockey University Online Coach 1/2 course
Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders
Gender Identity Online Training

1. The Hockey University Online Coach 1/2 course must be completed before the coach can register for the Coach 1 in class course.
2. All on ice Coaches/Assistant Coaches/Instructors in the Initiation Program must take the Coach 1 course. There are no exceptions to this rule and no other levels of qualification are acceptable at the Initiation Program level.

The first step is setting up a Hockey Canada account for yourself. This login information is what you will use to register for the online and other courses (you'll need to add yourself as a participant when registering for the courses).

Referees

To book or reschedule a referee, please contact NGS Referee Scheduler Jason Foster.

When booking referees for an exhibtion game, the coach is required to pay for the referees. Please refer to the HEO referee pay rate guideline below for pricing.

Travel and Insurance Forms

Teams travelling outside of Hockey Eastern Ontario boundaries or to the USA for games or tournaments must fill in a travel form.

2023-2024 Blackout Dates

Ice will be not available on the following dates due to tournaments at the arenas – any home games booked on these dates will need to be moved.
